Trim surfaces by polygon
Use the Trim Surfaces by Polygon tool (prepare > Post-Processing Tools > Tri-mesh Tools > Removal > Trim Surfaces by Polygon) to remove triangles that lie inside or outside a polygon. You can also remove triangles and patches using the other removal tools.
- At the top of the form, select a source from the 'Source' drop-down list. This selection populates the table below with all available tri-meshes. Select the tri-meshes to modify by checking the individual check boxes.
- Select the polygon to use for trimming the tri-mesh.
- Under Remove Section, select whether the triangles inside or outside the selected polygon should be removed from the tri-mesh.
- Under Removal Mode, you can select whether the triangles will be fully removed or cut . Remove Triangles removes complete triangles, while Smooth cut removes only those parts of the triangles that lie outside or inside the polygon.
- Click OK to remove or cut all triangles which lie inside or outside the polygon.
